With Oil Prices Falling, Who Are The 10 Largest Oil and Gas Companies Worldwide?

Over the last century and into the current one, the world has become increasingly dependent on oil in order to function.  From power to products, oil is an essential ingredient in our daily lives.  Over the world, there are many different companies that supply it.  Here are the ten largest oil and gas companies as measured by daily production.

10. Kuwait Petrol Corporation—3.2 million barrels per day

Founded in 1934 by the companies that would become BP and Chevron, Kuwait Oil Company has become a prolific oil producer by making use of the abundant Kuwaiti oilfields.  Over the years, they have expanded their production in order to remain relevant in the world of oil.  Between their crude oil and natural gas production, they earn the number ten spot on the list.

9. Chevron—3.5 million barrels per day

Based in California, this American energy corporation operates in over 180 different countries around the globe and employs nearly 62,000 employees.  Considered one of the Super Majors in the world of oil and gas, they provide a wide variety of products, including additives, base oils, fuels, and lubricants.

8. Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex)—3.6 million barrels per day

When British and American oil companies were exploring the oil fields of Mexico, the government sought to embrace the goals of striking workers and nationalized their oil industry.  The industry remained nationalized from 1938 until 2014, at which point they opened their doors to private investors and began working to better their protocol, documentation, and Pemex compliance standards.

7. Royal Dutch Shell—3.9 million barrels per day

Based in the Netherlands, Shell is another one of the Super Majors.  With 87,000 employees and presence in more than 70 countries, it is a powerhouse in the oil and gas industry.  However, it is also mindful of the green movement and is looking into renewable energy as well.

6. BP—4.1 million barrels per day

BP—or British Petroleum—began all the way back in 1909 under the name Anglo-Persian Company.  As the years have passed, it has taken on a new name and begun drilling operations around the world, from the Middle East to Alaska.

5. PetroChina—4.4 million barrels per day

Employing more than 550,000 employees across the globe, this state-controlled company is likely to only grow as the years go by.  The youngest company on the list—founded in 1999—it pulls in more $325 billion in annual revenue.

4. ExxonMobil—5.3 million barrels per day

Originally operating as two separate companies, they merged in 1999.  At the time, this made them the largest oil and gas company in the world.  Over the years, they have fallen to the number four spot, though that is hardly something to fret over: they still pull in 420 billion dollars of annual revenue.

3. National Iranian Oil Company—6.4 million barrels per day

Coming in at third place, their origins are the same as that of BP.  It wasn’t until 1951 that the company was founded, sparked by the rise of nationalism in Iran.  While it is not a company that necessarily has name recognition worldwide, it certainly is a power player in the world of oil and gas.

2. Gazprom—9.7 million barrels per day.

This global energy company is based in Russia and controls one of the largest natural gas reserves in the entire world.  18% of global gas reserves and 15% of global gas output are controlled by Gazprom.  Approximately half of their production serves Russia while the rest is exported to more than 30 other countries.

1. Saudi Aramco—12 million barrels per day

When a company generates more than 1 billion dollars a day in revenue, they deserve to be number one on this list.  In addition to having an incredible output, they also control the largest reserves in the world.

How to Earn Money with Bitcoin Exchange

Bitcoin Exchange

Bitcoin is similar to any other form of currency and the only difference is that it is digital. You can save, spend, and invest your bitcoins. Bitcoin is considered one of the most used crytocurrency since it was introduced in 2009. It earned even more popularity when its value increased significantly to $266 from $2 between February and April 2014. Its market valuation was over $2 billion during this period.

It is possible to earn money through Bitcoin exchange. The exchange process is similar to what happens during physical currency trade. When it comes to physical currency, its value is largely influenced by a country’s financial and economic health. This also applies to Bitcoin but the difference is that the value is determined by how much effort your computer makes. You can trade this currency just like any other commodity.
There are some cryptocurrency exchangers such as ALFaCashier that you can use for exchange. ALFACashier is a popular currency exchange service that offers an affiliate program for people who want to exchange Bitcoins. The service offers a VIP level for highly active affiliates. With this level, affiliates get about 20% off every referred conversion they make in future. The affiliates also get complete banners in different formats that they can use on forum posts and web pages. With a VIP status an affiliate can generate regular passive income by simply referring new people to the service.

Save on Winter Heating Expense

Home heating

Energy consumption accounts for a range of behaviour using gasoline, electricity, natural gas and other forms of power.  Responsible use of natural resources touches each of these areas, as citizens recognize the need to leave a workable planet for future generations.  Conservation and efficiency efforts have drastic impacts on overall energy use, but there are personal benefits to responsible consumption, including savings.

In addition to gas and other fuels, our winter heating needs account for a significant portion of our annual energy use.  As a result, energy efficiency in these areas can have a sizable impact on winter energy spending.  And winter efficiency is about more than saving money, because the effort also creates a more comfortable environment for residents, who enjoy draft free homes alongside monthly savings.

Cash-conscious consumers and committed environmentalists use the following strategies to r

educe energy use, landing substantial savings on the cost of winter heating.  By tuning-in to these simple approaches, you’ll do your part for the planet and bring home lower energy spending, in the process.

Control Your Thermostat

Ultimately, the amount you’ll pay for energy in the winter relates to the way you manage your heat controls.  The thermostat enables users to adjust heat settings, calling on the heating system’s power plant to generate warmth.  Some homes use a forced-air system, which pumps heated air through a home’s ductwork.  In other cases, home use hydronic systems, in which water is heated at the boiler, before being spread throughout the home to provide heat.

To reduce home heating costs, start with a fresh thermostat, or at least evaluate the functionality of your current model.  A broken or inaccurate unit can lead to overspending on winter warming. The absolute functional life of a thermostat does not exceed ten years, and there are additional benefits to upgrading.  Modern thermostats re more precise than older ones, and they have expanded features compared to those offered a decade ago.  For starters, programmable versions enable users to control heat more precisely, leading to simultaneous savings on energy spending.

Dialing-in energy efficiency is easy with programmable thermostats, which can be set-up to mirror your lifestyle.  Say your home sits empty during the day, while everyone is away at work or school.  Why heat your home during this down time, when no one is present to benefit?  Programmable thermostats allow you to plug-in settings to account for your schedule and lifestyle – calling for heat only when it is needed.  Rather than maintaining a consistent temperature throughout the day, programmed setting kick-in shortly before residents are expected home, furnishing just the right amount of heat to keep them warm.

Maintain heating Equipment for Performance and Savings

Proper efficiency requires equipment capable of maximizing the impact of energy used to provide heat.  The higher the efficiency of your home heating plant, the lower your spending will be to create the same amount of heat, so regardless of which type of heating system you operate, it pays to keep it functioning properly.

To squeeze the most benefit out of your winter energy use, clear items from in front of radiators, which are essential components of water-based systems.  Blocked air vents also reduce the flow of heat, so make sure to keep these areas free of clutter if you rely on a forced-air heating system.  These systems also suffer in efficiency when filters become clogged, so be sure to maintain your forced air unit with regular filter changes.  If available, follow manufacturer’s recommendations, but once per month is a standard timetable for furnace filter changes.  With efficient and equipment and responsible behaviour, you’ll quickly notice energy bill savings.

Protect Yourself from Card Fraud

Card Fraud

We live in a world where everything is supposed to happen instantaneously. We microwave our food to piping hot in minutes. Access information in seconds that once required hours of searching through library shelves. Purchase goods online with a few clicks of the old mouse, and pay for purchases from our local merchants with the swipe of a card. We even get irritated when the shopper in front of us has to count out cash, necessitating in a clerk – who has never learned the simple task of making change – looking at the register to find how much change to give back. And heaven forbid ending up in a checkout line behind someone who has the audacity to write a check!

Along with the wonderful convenience of being able to pay for our purchases with a card, however, comes the risk that some unsavory character might find it equally convenient to grab our card information and make his or her own purchases without having to deal with the inconvenience of paying for them. As a result, card companies and merchants have made use of numerous safeguards to protect us from becoming victims of fraud. Unfortunately, when we find new and better ways to protect ourselves and our customers from criminals, those criminals find new and better ways to work around our safeguards. The final responsibility for protecting ourselves falls right back in our own laps. Here are a few things you should do to protect yourself, just in case one of those smart criminals targets you.

  • Keep close track of your cards – Never leave a card sitting on the counter at checkout. All a criminal has to do is glance at and memorize the card number and watch you enter your PIN number (for a debit card), and your card is theirs for the using. Some criminals even work with store clerks to scan and store your card info as you check out. The new Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) cards are especially easy to copy by thieves with readily available portable scanners.
  • Keep your receipts, and make certain that clerks file their copies securely – for the same reasons as above.
  • Check your card statement online – It’s a good idea to have a peek at your online statement on a regular basis, comparing ledger items against your purchases. If you notice a purchase or withdrawal that you didn’t authorize, notify the card issuer or card protection agencies immediately and report the discrepancy. Here is the contact information for the card protection agencies:

Finally, if you use a debit card to pay for purchases, select Credit rather than Debit when you scan your card. Credit card processing includes additional safeguards against fraud, and while those safeguards aren’t foolproof, you need to use every tool available to make it harder for criminals to cash in on your account. As too many people have learned the hard way, skipping even simple steps can prove quite costly and frustrating. Not to mention far more inconvenient than standing in line behind someone who is writing a check. You might even find that you’re more sympathetic to those people in line ahead of you that cost you a few precious minutes while they pay for their purchases in such an archaic manner. Perhaps they know something, or have been victimized themselves.
